Prices rise most in Bristol

It has been revealed that Bristol was the UK which saw the largest property price growth in 2007.

According to figures from email4property, the city saw growth of 9.2 per cent, making it the most successful in the country outside of London.

The average property in Bristol now costs £204,374 and 43 per cent of all sales were made up of terraced housing.

"Since the turn of the century, many of the major towns and cities throughout the country have experienced large-scale regeneration in a bid to shed old images and rebrand in keeping with the capital," said David Bexon, managing director of email4property.

"If uncertainty brings greater research or more careful borrowing, before buying a property, this can only benefit the housing market over the next few years," he added.

Commenting on the UK housing market as a whole, Mr Bexon said that "seasoned investors will end the year relatively unscathed".ADNFCR-907-ID-18401495-ADNFCR
